I would like to see ChatGPT add two separate privacy-focused spaces: a Personal Vault and a Private Room.
The Personal Vault would be for information the user considers genuinely sensitive or protected. It should be separate from normal chat history, memory, and ordinary file storage, with stronger security such as a PIN, password, biometric verification, or trusted-device approval before ChatGPT can access or display its contents.
Users could choose exactly what belongs in the Vault, such as private documents, account information, personal records, emergency information, or other material that deserves stronger protection. Useful features could include encrypted storage, automatic locking after inactivity, access history, and the ability to temporarily authorize ChatGPT to use one specific piece of Vault information without exposing everything else stored there.
The Private Room would serve a different purpose. It would be a private personal storage and workspace area for ordinary personal or semi-personal material that the user wants kept separate from normal chats, general memory, and work files, but which does not require the highest level of Vault security. This could include personal notes, records, files, projects, reference material, or other information the user simply wants kept in a private area.
The existing Library can continue serving as general or work-oriented storage, while the Private Room would be deliberately separated for personal material the user does not want mixed with ordinary work files or chats.
The important distinction would be:
Library = general and work storage
Private Room = private everyday personal storage and workspace
Personal Vault = high-security storage for genuinely sensitive information
Together, these would give users much more control over how different kinds of information are stored, separated, protected, and accessed inside ChatGPT.
