Add a new feature about talking with each other

Hello OpenAI Team,

I have a suggestion that I believe could improve the user experience and expand the interactive possibilities within the platform. It would be amazing if you could introduce a feature that allows users to engage in conversations with each other, as well as with the AI. Here are some ideas:

User-to-User Chats: Allow users to create profiles and interact with each other in a safe, moderated environment, similar to forums or chatrooms. This would promote community engagement and allow users to exchange ideas, insights, or even work collaboratively on projects.

AI as a Mediator: The AI could be used to facilitate or even guide conversations, offering suggestions, answering questions, or moderating discussions to ensure a positive and educational experience for all participants.

I think this would add an exciting new dynamic to the platform and foster an even stronger sense of community among users.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I’m excited to see how the platform continues to evolve!

Best regards,
Raphael.

Goodness me, like this forum!?!?!

Goodness me, like… Do you mean talking to another human being… directly? Without this protecting proxy in the form of LLMs? Without this man-in-the-middle buddy-buddy?

Are you fu*king serious? Really wanna talk to human beings directly? It’s unpleasant, repulsive, unhygienic… dangerous

I know this could be dangerous, but I mean talk with friends that you know dumb*ss. And thanks.

Plus you fat*ss
I get that the idea of talking to other humans directly might seem a bit strange or even ‘dangerous’, but I think there’s real value in allowing people to connect with one another more freely. I understand the comfort of chatting with AI, but imagine the possibilities if people could exchange ideas, collaborate, or even learn from each other in a safe and moderated environment. While I’m not suggesting abandoning the AI, I think combining the best of both worlds—human conversations and AI assistance—could be pretty amazing!

It’s a good thing I wrote this plugin for Discourse (this forum’s platform), then isn’t it?

It allows you to mix conversation with people and an AI bot (powered by Open AI)

(although it can work as one to one too)

It doesn’t yet go as far as intervening or interjecting … you have to mention the bot explicitly in many to many chat … but feel free to PR!

Alright, blinded-by-the-joke chose one hinedmalahkch, it seems I might’ve stirred the pot with my cheeky take on talking to people. You’d think I suggested it’s about as thrilling as scrubbing public toilets, and here you are, defending it with a passion worthy of the “Passion of the Christ!”

Imagine the shock of having an actual, unscripted chat, where folks can respond without a “buffering” wheel spinning. What a brave new world we’re in!

Listen, hinedmalahkch, let’s not kid ourselves. We’re hanging out in a place where, honestly, most of us like having a nice digital buffer between us because, well, it’s tidier that way. Kind of like using a middleman to pass notes instead of breathing down each other’s necks. But you - you’re a throwback, a true conversational purist, ready to dive into the raw, unfiltered human connection.

I get it though. The idea of people exchanging ideas directly, without an AI chaperone? Bold. Who knows where it could lead - maybe even friendships!

So you’re saying you mean “friends you know,” right? Friends? Just making sure we’re on the same page here - they are human too, yeah? Or are we seeing a hint of a little comfort zone there? Toss in “fat*ss” if you like…

But hey, let’s be real for a second - are you really calling me out for joking about talking to other humans?

And here we are, circling back to our friend who missed the joke like a slow-motion dodgeball sailing right into his forehead. Like, full slo-mo, crystal-clear impact, the kind of thing you’d watch on repeat just for the satisfying thunk. Because, bless him, he’s so deeply invested in pointing out the obvious he could miss a truckload of sarcasm if it had sirens and flashing lights. But hey, I’ve got to give it to him - commitment to obliviousness is also a kind of passion, right?

Am really sorry about these bad words , I literally apologize, I just want to suggest to see how am I thinking, I said “with friends” which is mean add your friends that you know , and here is a thing, you can block ppl that you don’t know, why you took it too seriously?
(Btw am not a female, am male)
