I bought Plus upgrade today, played with GPT-4 features by creating a few pictures, translated sections from Word file and then boom - you have reached the current usage cap for GPT-4!
I was comparing Plus features to free MS Copilot and MS Desinger, which both use GPT4 to my understanding.
Perhaps OpenAI shall introduce some sort of usage meter to the chat prompt?
I’m using GPT Plus since the start and never went into a GPT 4 cap.
However today I was trying the voice chat and after a little conversation back and forth “you have reached the GPT4 cap”. Just found that voice is still in beta and has a cap of 50 messages every 3 hours

But again, I’ve never had a cap with messages or Dall-E pictures
I wholeheartedly agree with you! This cap on the number of messages is absolutely ridiculous and far too restrictive. It’s incredibly frustrating when you’re in a creative mindset and trying to develop a custom GPT.
We’re paying a premium, three times the price of Netflix, for this service, and it’s unfair to have such limitations.
Capping should be completely prohibited, as it hinders our ability to fully utilize this valuable resource and stifles innovation. We deserve better and should demand an end to these arbitrary restrictions!
So if it throws errors, or has to re-generate an answer these count as messages.

complete BS. Errors and regens I never get any actual usage out of it…complete waste of money $$$
When creating GPTs, we can only use GPT-4, especially after configuring actions, extensive testing is required before it can be released to other users. This limitation has stretched our work hours and disrupted our plans. We suggest separating the constraints for developing and debugging GPTs from their usage.
I became a member yesterday and I already regret it.
Why am I going to pay for a limited service? It,so like only been able to see 60 minutes movies on Netflix.

I feel cheated by OpenAI. They specify a limit of 40 messages every three hours, yet I find myself blocked after just 19 messages for at least two weeks. This is pure fraud. What else should I call it? It also states that the limit is 40 messages every three hours, yet they have been scamming me for two weeks.
I’m trying to contact them, but no one responds. There’s not a shred of support, not even a trace. Furthermore, ChatGPT crashes without mercy every 3/4 responses, so the actual usability I can get from it is very, very limited.
I came back here because my ChatGTP4 (not GPTs) is at the limit after 20-30 chats.

I asked a few questions to chatGPT in my mobile phone and it suddenly said “You’ve reached your limit using GPT4.” So I tried to use it with my laptop and it said the same thing. Can you actually make something when it stops you from using it after you spend like 5 minutes with it?

I just hit this while working. At first I thought it must be a bug, but apparently this is “working as intended”.
I felt compelled to reply that this is an absolute deal-breaker for me, this is truly absurd, why even pay in this case?
I just hit my limit for the first time. I have been interactively writing some code.
When i ask it to do something, it will tell me what it plans to do, and then ask if it is OK to proceed. Now that is a good feature.
However, it is doing that for every trivial request. That is not a good feature then as the confirmation to proceed on ever step effectively turns a 40 message cap into 20.
If it is asking for permission to do what you just asked for, then it shouldn’t be counted a message.

I convert GPT-4 to GPT-3.5
When I paid it as a plus user after 20min. I got this problem. This is extremely ridiculous and unacceptable. In OpenAI’s plan page. Nowhere are there significant display cap limitations. I feel cheated.
