Why is my ChatGPT app built with Apps SDK is showing up under "Connectors" instead of "Apps"?

Hi,

I’m building a ChatGPT app using the new Apps SDK but when I want to add it in “Apps & connectors”, it’s showing up in the “Browse connectors” section instead of “Browse apps”, as I would have expected. See the screenshot.

I’m fairly sure the app isn’t a connector but rather an app, as it uses the new APIs for showing custom UI.

Is this a bug on OpenAI’s side or is there a way for me as a developer to move it to the “Browse apps” section?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Simon

Maybe the problem is that you’re on a ChatGPT Enterprise plan? OpenAI Apps are not supported in Enterprise yet so you might need to try it on an account with a “Plus, Pro or Go” plan. Not the “Free“ plan because it doesn’t have Developer mode.

Reference: “…Business, Enterprise, or Education plans do not support ChatGPT Apps today…” on the OpenAI Apps SDK doc site’s “Connect from ChatGPT“ section.

Hey Community members, Can you please confirm if you are still facing the issue. The SDK is now available in preview for all plans. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

I am still experiencing this issue with the ChatGPT Business plan in the EU. Is support for the EU already complete?

I just want to confirm that app appearing within connectors is expected as you can see the list headlines with both apps & connector. @mikkokutilainen can you please share what issue are you facing? Thank you!

yes mine has always shown in connectors. I figured it was just a dev/beta bug.
