WebSearch Doesn't Work in API - Hardly works in Playground

Pretty much the same as this thread yesterday

All the users have complained that it stopped working. It works for specific prompts, that too rarely and only in playground. No prompt returns citations (99%) when tried with the API (both Responses and Chat Competions)

I’ve tried every alternate solution that’s posted on the above thread, yet nothing forces the web search. My prod environment depends on retrieving citations from OpenAI API. @OpenAI_Support I’d like to urge you to look into this at your earliest and prioritize this if possible.

The funny thing is, Im being charged for the web search despite the websearch not returning any [citations]

The “annotations” in the API response are empty. The UI dashboard does indicate that it ran a web search. Are we expected to recieve a refund?

Thanks @Foxalabs! The citations are back :slight_smile: Hell yeah baby! :smiley: Its working well and good. All the requests now come back with citations on search_context_size low. Appreciate your help!
