Users Facing Automatic Model Switching Issue

I am facing when I select the model to think pro for complex project and when I hit enter the model automatically change to instant, can anyone facing this same issue?

Hello everyone,

I would like to confirm if any other Business Plan users are facing the same issue.

For the last 2 days, whenever I select the “Think like Pro” / advanced reasoning model for complex tasks and press Enter, the model automatically switches back to the Instant model. The task remains the same, but the selected model changes automatically, and the work does not proceed as expected.

Even if I manually switch the model again, it again changes back to Instant and does not perform the task using the selected advanced model.

This is affecting complex workflows where higher reasoning capability is required, such as working with large projects, analyzing files, creating ZIP packages, extracting files, coding tasks, and other advanced operations.

I would like to know:

  • Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
  • Is this a known problem with the Business Plan?
  • Has anyone found a solution or workaround?

Any confirmation or feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I’m still in the same situation. The model’s performance has degraded so much that its instructions to image2 have gone haywire, and it’s genuinely painful that even the image quality has dropped as a result.

Half a day ago, on this forum, OpenAI closed two threads about the same issue. The stated causes were things like individual user penalties or fraudulent login detection, but the gist was that they have no intention of explaining the specific reasons, and even though this will likely keep happening, they have no intention of addressing it. I thought, ‘Are they serious?’ — but apparently, when we sign up for a ChatGPT subscription, we’ve already agreed to terms stating that this kind of thing is acceptable…
