Subject: Request for GPT‑4.1 Access – Essential for Programming Workflow

Dear OpenAI Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing as a ChatGPT Plus subscriber to kindly request the reactivation of GPT‑4.1 access on my account, as a special exception.

I hope this message reaches someone from the product team. GPT‑4.1 was essential to my workflow, and its removal has deeply impacted me as a developer.

As a programmer, I rely heavily on precision and structure in code generation. After extensively testing GPT‑5 and GPT‑4o, I have found that GPT‑4.1 consistently delivered the most accurate and instruction-faithful responses for programming tasks — particularly in C#, Windows Forms development, and UI control logic.

Its ability to follow technical instructions exactly as written — without unnecessary abstraction, deviation, or verbosity — made it an indispensable tool in my daily work.

Unfortunately, since GPT‑4.1 has been deprecated, I have faced several issues:

  • GPT‑5 often takes several minutes to respond and frequently goes off-topic or adds unnecessary content.

  • GPT‑4o is fast and helpful, but it tends to over-generalize and sometimes skips key technical details.

  • Neither model offers the same level of stability, clarity, or instruction-following that GPT‑4.1 consistently provided.

I understand and respect OpenAI’s direction toward unified model architectures. However, I believe developers like myself would greatly benefit from having the option to manually select GPT‑4.1 again — even in legacy mode — for cases where deterministic and consistent outputs are critical.

Please consider this request seriously. GPT‑4.1 played a vital role in my workflow, and its removal has impacted both my productivity and confidence in the platform.

I appreciate your attention to this, and I genuinely hope OpenAI will continue to listen to its power users and developers.

Sincerely,
Omar A. – Developer Losing Productivity Without GPT‑4.1
