Write a multi-paragraph but one page (minimum) paper analyzing one passage of your choice from your novel. This is a style analysis “essay” that asks you to analyze HOW the author writes to achieve a particular effect and/or purpose. You will only need to refer to the passage you selected–you won’t need any other sources. You will need at least two concrete details for each body paragraph. Your analysis (commentary) will consist of you explaining how the technique you quoted achieves something. And please don’t just say that the technique gets the author’s point across. Say something specific that the technique achieves/accomplishes for the author—maybe the technique achieves a somber mood or personifies a culture in order to appeal to audiences on an emotional level—something specific.
