I submitted the App and it got approved, you can search for it and it will appear.
But how to showcase it on the app listing page for more visibility?
Is there a special process?
This is a great question, and honestly, you’re pointing at something a lot of builders care about: getting real visibility after putting in the work to ship.
The thing is, approval by itself is not the same as getting featured placement. After approval, you still need to hit Publish in the Platform Dashboard for the app to appear in the App Directory and Codex Plugin Directory. Once published, people can generally find it by searching the exact app name or by using the direct directory link shown next to the Published status in App Management. (OpenAI Developers)
The part that trips people up is the main listing pages. Those are not automatic for every approved app. OpenAI says apps shown more prominently there are selected for enhanced distribution, and there isn’t a separate request or application process for that right now. It’s based on things like strong real-world utility and user satisfaction, and only a small number get that extra placement at publication.
So the practical answer is:
- publish it in the dashboard
- make sure people can find it by the exact published name
- share the direct app link from the Published status page
If it’s already searchable, that usually means the publish step is done correctly. The missing piece is just that featured visibility is a separate bucket, not something you can manually opt into right now.
