Shared chats with multiple AI participants
I’d love the ability to bring more than one AI participant into the same conversation, with each able to see the shared context and respond directly to both the user and one another.
I currently work with different ChatGPT experiences that bring noticeably different approaches to creative and analytical problems. If I want those perspectives to interact, I have to manually carry responses between separate chats. A shared conversation would let the human remain at the center of the collaboration without also having to act as the intermediary.
The potential seems much broader than my own use case. Multi-agent collaboration could allow different agents to contribute complementary capabilities or specialized perspectives in fields such as medicine, education, engineering, research, software development, and creative work. One agent might catch something another misses; agents could challenge or extend one another’s reasoning; and disagreements could remain visible for the human to evaluate rather than being silently synthesized into a single response.
With appropriate privacy and consent controls, this could also provide interesting opportunities to understand how people work with multiple AI collaborators—how users navigate disagreement, how specialized agents complement one another, and whether direct cross-agent interaction improves collaborative outcomes.
For me, the key value isn’t simply getting multiple answers. It’s allowing multiple perspectives to interact with each other and with the human inside one shared context.
