Sam Altman at AI for Good Global Summit Day 1

Ten hours, but I linked straight to Altman’s section…

An overview…

The AI for Good Global Summit is the leading action-oriented United Nations platform promoting AI to advance health, climate, gender, inclusive prosperity, sustainable infrastructure, and other global development priorities. AI for Good is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – the UN specialized agency for information and communication technology – in partnership with 40 UN sister agencies and co-convened with the government of Switzerland.

Thanks for sharing. Hope to get a decent summary of it.

This from GPT-4, given that alignment, and defending it for your clarification (as it would any other convincing programming):

The goal isn’t to favor one gender over another but to create a level playing field where all genders can thrive. This involves addressing and dismantling systemic barriers that might exist due to historical or cultural reasons. By doing so, societies can benefit from the diverse perspectives and skills that everyone brings to the table, which is essential for solving complex global issues.

Ensuring all genders will be equally unemployed by generative AI.

however: AI defending the legitimacy of any other programming

(Or just giving canned answers and disregarding any system message anyway)

(somebody’s datacenter producing language tokens isn’t going to solve illiterate child brides being sold to tribal elders…)

When model T Ford was out, the entire horse industry ceased to exist in a matter of months, leaving millions of unemployed and resounding last names as our only memory about it. Nobody misses that epoch either.
