The voice input feature available in the mobile version of ChatGPT is incredibly useful, allowing users to speak and have their speech converted into text automatically. However, this feature is missing in the web version, making it less efficient for users who prefer or rely on voice input.

Typing out ideas takes significantly more time, whereas voice input captures thoughts quickly and effortlessly, improving productivity and accessibility. Many users may find it easier to express their thoughts verbally rather than typing, and having this feature on the web version would make ChatGPT more efficient and user-friendly.

This is not a request for voice chat, but specifically for voice input (speech-to-text conversion), similar to how it works on mobile. Implementing this in the web version would benefit a wide range of users, including professionals, students, and those with accessibility needs.

I hope the OpenAI team considers adding this feature to the web version, as it would greatly enhance usability and workflow efficiency. Looking forward to seeing this improvement in future updates!

I asked ChatGPT about that and was given a Chrome extension to use. It works well. It’s called ‘Voice Control for ChatGPT.’

That’s interesting, but it does not function properly in the Brave browser on Linux. Instead, it displays a message indicating that it is only supported on Windows or macOS. Additionally, the Voice Control for ChatGPT extension is specifically designed for Chrome and Edge on Windows and macOS, making it incompatible with the Brave browser and Linux-based systems.

I’m looking exactly for the same thing, I usually use chat-gpt on
Windows and when I want to use the Text-to-speech feature I need to use my phone or the desktop app in my Mac, I don’t care if it’s the desktop app or web, but I want this feature to work on Windows, most of the competence has this feature on web.
