I recently built an iOS Shortcut that turns GPT-4o into a real-time AI assistant — it listens to your environment via AirPods (or iPhone mic) and responds immediately using natural speech.
Here’s the cool part:
I have zero technical or coding experience. I built this entirely with ChatGPT’s help and some trial and error using Apple’s Shortcuts app. If I can do it, anyone can.
What it does:
• Continuously listens using your AirPods or mic
• Sends what it hears to the ChatGPT app
• Gets back GPT-4o’s response and reads it aloud
• Loops until you stop it
I’m using it during meetings, study sessions, or just to get quick facts and summaries while multitasking.

I’m sharing this mainly to learn — if anyone has suggestions to improve it, or wants to build on it, I’d really appreciate your feedback!
