Projects are not sorted by the selected Last updated sorting setting

In the old Codex application, you had projects, and then threads. Whenever you worked on a thread in a project, it brought the whole project up to the top of the list, like it currently does on the iOS application. When Codex was ported to ChatGPT, the projects just stay where they currently are at while a thread is working. When working in multiple projects at a time, we have to hunt around in the Project view to try to figure out what it was we worked on. It would be great if Sort by Last Updated would actually move the entire project to the top of the list, so that we can easily find what we were last working on, instead of switching to the “just the thread” view. Again, this behavior is currently behaving like this on the mobile application, but not in the desktop application.

I like staying in project view because sometimes I have multiple threads in a project that coincide with each other, and switching to just thread view doesn’t give me the project context.

Thank you!

I have the same need. I work across many projects, and some of them are only used once a month. When I open or create a conversation in one of those projects, I would like the entire project to move to the top of the sidebar when sorting by Last Updated. I prefer to keep the project-grouped view because it preserves context across related threads. A project-level sort based on the most recently created or updated conversation would make this much easier to navigate.

Thanks for the clear example. We’ll pass along the issue with Last Updated ordering and the request to move the whole Project when a thread changes. We don’t have a confirmed fix or timeline to share.
