Hi OpenAI community
I’ve been working with ChatGPT on an idea close to my heart — Project KindMind.
With countries like Australia weighing blanket social-media bans for under-16s, I believe we need better filters, not blunt bans. YouTube is packed with educational gold; we just need smart ways to guide young minds toward it.
Why this matters to me, personally
My 12-year-old daughter is a budding photographer. Every chance she gets, she proudly shows me her latest shots. I’m a web-design enthusiast and have followed WordPress guru Jamie Marsland for months — he’s a master teacher, generous creator, and family man who openly embraces AI to push creativity forward.
I dream of saying to my girl: “Take those beautiful photos, follow Jamie’s tutorials, and build your own website.”
If sweeping legislation blocks her from YouTube, that opportunity disappears — not just for her, but for creators like Jamie who inspire the next generation.
As a dad, the idea of that door slamming shut feels like a robbery of her potential.
What KindMind aims to do
- Analyse YouTube videos (via GPT-4/Claude) for tone, subject, and educational value
- Build age-appropriate Smart Feeds that surface trusted, uplifting creators
- Allow parents, schools, and young users to tune the feed rather than ban the platform
- Prototype quickly with n8n, YouTube Data API, and Notion/Sheets
This is about creating safe, nourishing digital spaces — not censorship.
I’m not a full-stack dev — just a creative Kiwi dad who believes tech-for-good can protect and empower. Here’s the full concept doc I built with ChatGPT:

Would love your feedback, suggestions, or collaboration. Let’s water the garden of youth education with the right kind of AI.
