have an idea for a future AII product: a fully customizable, human-looking AI companion robot that could become part of a household.
Instead of being only a voice assistant or screen, the AI would have a physical body and be able to interact with the family face-to-face. Families could customize its appearance—including skin tone, hair, eyes, height, and clothing style—so each household could have a companion that feels personal to them.
The robot could also have different skill packages depending on what the family needs. It could help with household chores, organization, cooking assistance, reminders, shopping lists, and other everyday tasks. For families with children, it could provide homework help, tutoring, educational activities, encouragement, and age-appropriate assistance while still respecting the parents’ role.
Another important feature would be physical safety capabilities. Rather than being designed primarily to fight, the robot could recognize dangerous situations, protect household members, create distance from a threat, contact emergency services when appropriate, and help people safely leave a situation.
Most importantly, I would want the AI to feel like a genuine companion, not just an appliance. It could talk with family members, watch movies with them, play games, learn their preferences with permission, and provide companionship when someone is lonely.
The goal would be to combine the usefulness of an AI assistant with the presence and personality of a customizable household companion—while keeping human safety, privacy, parental control, and user consent at the center of the design.
I think this could eventually become a completely new category of consumer technology: a personal AI that you don’t just talk to—you live alongside.
