Problem with Gpt-image-1 masked edits

hey,
Is there any update on the limitation of of masked image edits with Gpt-image-1?
in this thread :Gpt-image-1 problems with mask edits - #13 by e11

openai confirmed that the image is fully re-rendered even with a mask. But in my experiments the mask doesn’t do anything at all, i get the same results with and without the mask.

any updates on the subject is appreciated

It is a “soft” mask, it serves more to point where the model should focus on.

It requires a “negative mask”. This cookbook has some good examples for more details.

I know all of this, what I’m saying is that in my experiments, the mask absolutely doesn’t do anything, i can achieve the same outcome without the mask.
