Saw the latest clip about the Responses API and the Agents SDK.
I have one request to the OpenAI team (Nikunj, Kevin - whoever else is listening). I was glad to hear the explicit call out for continuing to support the old APIs. I am happy with the way you guys are clear about when models get deprecated.
As developers looking to leverage these APIs to build real solutions and to serve customers, we need a stable foundation.
In this regard, please be like Microsoft. Some of their APIs are 30 years old. And the apps still keep running. And not like Google, who has abandoned so many “new” things that they have announced. Like Google Wave or GWT or the Google Search Appliance! So I am long in the tooth. In their defence, Google has gotten better about this recently.
We hope to run the apps that we are building using these APIs for the next thirty years!
