Hello OpenAI team,
I’d like to suggest a feature that many users — especially writers — have been consistently asking for.
Please consider introducing an optional toggle-based “Expanded Expression Mode” for adult users alongside the SPUD release.
This is not about pornography.
It’s about enabling more natural and flexible creative expression for legitimate writing and storytelling.
What this would allow:
- Non-pornographic adult literary expression (erotica-level, narrative-focused)
- Stronger, more natural language where appropriate
- R-rated themes and mature subject matter
- Less sanitized, more authentic tone and dialogue
The key idea is user control through a toggle:
- Default experience remains safe and unchanged
- Only users who explicitly opt in can access expanded expression
- Clear safeguards can still prevent illegal or harmful content
Right now, many writers feel limited by overly restrictive tone constraints — especially when working on darker, mature, or emotionally intense stories.
If SPUD is meant to be a more advanced model, it would be a huge improvement if expressive capability evolves alongside it.
In short:
- Please don’t release the model alone
- Please release it together with meaningful expression options for users who need them
There is a large space between “fully safe” and “explicit content.”
That space matters — and many creators are asking for it.
