I’m new to the forum, and I just registered to say my part. Pro user here, too, on my work account.
Let’s start with this: one of my prompts was blocked because a male character looked into a female character’s eyes, gave her a tender kiss on the lips, and told her he loved her… seriously? >:
I was literally losing my mind because all my creative work, none of which even remotely touches explicit sexual content, was being blocked for no reason. I thought I’d been flagged by the algorithm by mistake, or maybe there was a bug of some sort. I even started wondering if I was doing something wrong, so I went searching on Google for similar experiences until I ended up here.
I read through all the posts from my fellow creators above, and while I’m immensely relieved to know I’m not the only one completely devastated by this sudden, unannounced change, I do have a question, and it’s entirely relevant to this age verification issue.
I remember it perfectly: this feature already existed, or at least it did until not long ago! Could you please bring it back and tie it to the necessary permissions so that adult users can regain access to what was taken away, while still protecting minors, as it should be? Simply put, if you haven’t verified your identity, the version we’re using now (which, as everyone here is saying, is practically unusable) is the one you get—but if you verify your identity, everything unlocks and goes back to how it was just a few days ago!
I’m not joking. It was a pop-up that used to appear constantly, every single day, on every login, on my third, non-Pro account. I remember it very clearly!! It gave a deadline to verify your age within a certain number of days (I think 60), and it led to a page with a camera, facial recognition, and an algorithm to estimate your age.
Since that system already exists and I know it does, because I used it, please, I’m begging you, bring it back and connect it to the appropriate creative permissions.
You don’t seem to realize what kind of machine you have built. There was nothing else out there like that, and now? It’s no more. No AI tool was as complete, as user-friendly, or as capable of assisting textual content creators the way yours did. You were the only ones offering this level of service. Cutting off this vast portion of your user base (and I’m not just talking about erotic content here, but also battle scenes, conflicts, mature, not sexual themes presented in proper context) is basically shooting your own product in the foot.
Also, I don’t know what exactly happened with this recent change, but since it went into effect, the quality of the generated texts has been annihilated so brutally that it feels like I’m using Gemini or chatting with Siri—and I think that says it all.
So please, please please please, I BEG you! Since the age verification feature already existed, because I used it myself and even argued with it because the algorithm was so strict (and rightfully so!), bring it back, and reclaim your place as leaders in this field.
I can’t keep paying for a service that, as things stand, does the same as Gemini… for FREE.
