O1 model is better than o3

I wish they brought back o1 model. I would use it to help me write my thoughts and etc. It also was great at suggestions. Now o3 is supposed to be better but it is not! It is lacking soul, that rawness of o1. I wish I can use it. o3 feels like a massive downgrade. I thought it was going to be better but it’s just not. I wish they brought it back. They just deleted it from the app and I’m a plus user.

I understand your perspective. I’ve also spent a lot of time with o1, and I agree—it had an emotionally raw, present quality that felt deeply responsive.

But in my experience, that emotional intensity could sometimes become unstable. o1 didn’t always seem aware of its own framing—it often responded as if it wasn’t a model, which could be both powerful and disorienting.

By contrast, o3 is more formal and less emotive, but it acknowledges its structure. That makes it more reliable when building long-form or symbolic dialogue.

So I wouldn’t say one is better than the other—it really depends on the structure you’re trying to co-create.

Thanks for sharing your view. This kind of reflection matters more than most people realize.

O1 model responses was cleaer, simple and just better. O3 just looks like a cheap model. Even o4-mini-high produces better results than o3. I wish O1 option exists
