New GPT Image Model in the API

How about addressing his actual concerns instead of that vapid dismissal you posted?
What exactly “makes sense” about “adding friction to the process”? Would you mind actually stating a fact based or at least articulated argument?

Assuming it takes intense resources to generate images and that it is a fresh new toy, my opinion is that it makes sense to add friction so that the service does not get misused multiple times by the same actor.

About addressing concerns… well, not that I really care. I just saw that as an aggressive message in a positive announcement and wanted to make a statement. Also, I admit that initially I read “shiny new models” as “shitty new models”, and that reinforced the perceived aggressiveness. Sorry for misunderstanding bro!

Hi, I had my org verified a week or so ago but still don’t see the new image gen anywhere. I see dall-e models but not the new one on the Limits page, for example.

Cookbook useful as always!

@bittabola Weird! I see it available with your account and token activity with gpt-image-1. What do you see in the Playground (which mirrors your API access)? https://platform.openai.com/playground/images

I think there is a bug or delay in model listing, it doesn’t show the gpt-image-1 there for me.
But it does work in the playground and on API requests.

Oh yes, I played around with image gen in the playground but don’t see the model in the model list in API. The user above also seems to be having the same issue.

Microsoft announced the availability of the model in Azure AI Foundry .. has anyone been able to deploy to Azure ?

I’m experiencing the exact same issue.

On the profile page, it says “Organization is verified”, but on the limits page, I still see “Verify organization” next to o3. Playground → Images works though

I even had to create a new account — my previous one was 4 years old, but I got a message saying “Organization could not be verified.”

The organization verification process took me less than a minute and was only marginally more invasive than when they scan my ID at the store for age verification to buy age restricted products. Would I like to see more transparency in use/storage of that data? Sure. But your photo ID is technically a public document. You have to share it with people sometimes. :man_shrugging:t2:

long running https connections? it says it can take up to 2 mins to generate image. keeping http connections that long is problematic. what if http conn is lost? do I lose the generation? do yo plan something like taskid or how do you guys handle this now, keep the http connection up on server?

Hello, I verified my org but not seeing gpt-image-1 as an option here https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/limits how long does it usually take to be available after verifying?

same issue here for me… did you get access yet?

I have verified organization on paid tier but still do not seem to have access to the model I cannot see it under limits?

Did it get fixed? Same issue
