I found out I didn’t receive any updates because the model misinterpreted: it created a task saying “notify me to check news…” and instead of showing me the news, it just reminded me to check the news. And in English (the chat’s default language and language for ChatGPT wasn’t set to English), but I edited it and specified better.
So it brought the news, but from the US and in English again. I edited the prompt and specified the country and language.
Then, the news came as expected, but with a “small” problem, hehe: a list of “fake news”:
There were 4 news items: politics, economy, technology, and climate.
- Politics: from 2022.
- Economy: from late 2023.
- Technology: I don’t think it ever existed, I couldn’t find it.
- Climate: no idea, but it’s not from today, so it could be from any date.
This happened because I went to research, as the response provided the sources, but they were links to the homepage of each portal.
Well, I remain hopeful that it will work. I’ll try again tomorrow.
UPDATE 2025/01/18 (avoiding to create multiple posts alone here):
More “fake news”. 4 news with generic link (home page of each portal), and news about 2023.
It seems the problem here is model is not searching the web, but generating news from training data. Most of content are from 2023…
Useless so far.
