Hi- I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find that with the introduction of the new Responses API, there is now a ‘Logs’ page in the dev platform which shows logs for both the Responses API AND Chat Completions. This could be incredibly helpful in terms of reconciling the conversation history within OpenAI with the history maintained within my own backend system. (i.e. identifying issues arising from errors and edge cases where the two histories have diverged somehow)
My question is:
If I enable Chat Completions Logs, what is the retention policy for these logs? Is it still the same retention window as before, or does this increase that? Similarly, any difference in data privacy policy if logs are enabled?
