Please add native Apple Reminders integration to ChatGPT, building on the recently launched iCloud Calendar support.
Current status as of October 29, 2026
-
Launched: OpenAI’s October 27 release notes announce iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins, including email lookup, schedule checking, and calendar event updates.
-
Explicitly outside this launch: The connected-apps documentation states that a standalone Reminders plugin is not included.
-
Not confirmed in these announcements: Apple Reminders task management, comprehensive two-way synchronization, combined Calendar and Reminders daily summaries, or integration between Apple Reminders and ChatGPT scheduled tasks.
The Calendar launch is welcome progress, but it does not yet establish that the broader Reminders workflow is supported.
Requested Apple Reminders capabilities
-
Read and search: Access authorized reminder lists and show upcoming, overdue, completed, and incomplete items, including due dates, notes, and priorities.
-
Create: Add reminders through natural language, with the correct list, due date, time, notes, and recurrence.
-
Edit: Update existing reminders, reschedule them, change priorities, and move them between authorized lists.
-
Manage completion: Mark reminders complete or incomplete and reflect changes made in Apple Reminders.
-
Handle recurring reminders correctly: Support recurring schedules and clearly distinguish changes to one occurrence from changes to the entire series. Completing an occurrence should preserve the next occurrence.
-
Synchronize both ways: Reflect changes made in either ChatGPT or Apple Reminders without creating duplicate tasks or silently overwriting newer changes.
Integration with ChatGPT scheduled tasks
With explicit authorization, ChatGPT scheduled tasks should be able to read current Apple Reminders data at each run and:
-
Provide a daily summary combining calendar events and reminders.
-
Highlight overdue tasks and upcoming deadlines.
-
Notify me about selected incomplete reminders.
-
Perform specifically authorized reminder updates within defined permissions.
For example: “Every morning at 9 AM, summarize today’s calendar events and incomplete reminders due today, and highlight overdue items.”
If a scheduled run cannot access current data, it should report that clearly rather than present an old task list as current. Actions requiring confirmation should wait for approval.
Keep Apple as the source of truth
I want to continue using Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders across my Apple devices. This workflow should not require migrating to Google Calendar, Microsoft To Do, Notion, or another task platform, or maintaining duplicate lists manually.
Granular permissions and sensitive-action confirmation
Please allow separate permissions for reading, creating, editing, completing, and deleting, ideally restricted to selected calendars and reminder lists. Read-only access should be available.
Sensitive actions—such as deleting reminders, making bulk changes, modifying shared items, or changing an entire recurring series—should show a clear preview and require explicit confirmation. Background tasks should stay within the permissions and scope previously authorized.
This would let ChatGPT help users plan and follow through while preserving their existing Apple workflow and control over their data.
