My GPT invents prices and links even though I have clear rules and price data in the document. I don’t know what to do anymore. Help.
Having clear rules and a document loaded with information, both in Docs and JSON format, sometimes it invents prices that don’t exist and links that don’t exist either.

I totally understand your frustration. It’s really discouraging when the model doesn’t strictly follow the data you’ve provided — especially after taking the time to structure everything properly in Docs and JSON.
I’ve seen similar behavior before, where the model “hallucinates” prices or links even when clear instructions and valid data are present. It seems to happen more often when the prompt isn’t tightly constrained or when the context window gets too large.
Have you tried reinforcing your prompt with stricter instructions like “only use the data provided in the document and do not invent new values”? Also, are you using file search, function calls, or just embedding/vector stores?
Hopefully the devs continue improving data grounding to make things more reliable in these cases. You’re not alone in this!

but wouldnt you just tell it to lower the temperature (creativity)? So say “please set the temperature to 0.3.” (0-2 scale)
GPTs have no control over that at all.
