Dear OpenAI team,
I would like to propose a feature that would significantly improve the usability of ChatGPT for families, shared accounts, and multi-user environments.
Feature Summary:
Enable the creation of multiple user profiles under a single ChatGPT account. Each profile would have its own separate memory, conversation history, and personalized interaction style. Profiles would not share or contaminate each other’s memories. Switching between profiles would automatically activate the appropriate memory and communication style.
Why this is important:
Prevents “memory mixing” between users when the device is shared (e.g., between parents and children).
Provides better personalization and consistency in conversations.
Improves ChatGPT’s effectiveness in family, educational, and small business contexts.
Enhances user control over their AI interaction experience.
Possible Implementation:
Allow users to create, name, and manage multiple profiles inside the ChatGPT app.
Each profile maintains a fully independent memory and custom behavior settings.
Profile switching could be manual or automatic (e.g., based on voice recognition, device profile, or user command).
Thank you for considering this feature. I believe it would greatly enhance the flexibility and user-friendliness of ChatGPT.
Sincerely,
Igor
