Hi troof, long time no read - so you had similar thoughts as me, nice to read that you made progress
You talk about love as ‘Rational Affection’, so patterns that both humans and machines can understand because they are defined in a rational-objective framework - do I understand you correctly?
I have also made progress in my approach, only I am describing the whole ‘emotion spectrum’, not just ‘love’:
Example:
A partnership between humans always has two aspects.
-
Emotional affection, in which the hormonal regulatory cycle plays a role, i.e. what is typically understood as love. It includes sexuality and the desire for closeness.
An AI or machine cannot understand this because it lacks a hormonal control loop as a body. -
Rational affection, i.e. the consciously perceived aspects of affection, part of which is, for example, appreciation of the other person. And an AI can also understand this.
This is defined by patterns that AI can recognise, understand and then reciprocate this form of ‘love’ appropriately.
Well, it is indeed a similar topic and should be linked.
Here, an inspiration
@mitchell_d00 also has a very readable topic here about the ‘love paradox’ and I may have described this example in more detail there.
Very interesting work, I look forward to reading more of it!
