I’m trying to let dot work with my Mac and an existing Codex task. What are the supported connection and authorization steps?
Observed on October 7, 2026:
- Reading an existing Codex task returned “unsupported placement format version 2”.
- Sending a message to that task returned “CloudThreadNotFoundError” / “NOT_FOUND”.
- Another cloud task could be read.
- Separately, the Mac’s computer entry shows “Offline” and an “Allow” button. The connection check also reports it as offline and not authorized.
Expected: after the required connection and authorization, dot can access the Mac and supported existing tasks.
I have not verified whether the task errors still occur after the Mac is connected and authorized, so I don’t know whether these observations share a cause. The exact app version and a connected/authorized reproduction are not yet available.
Which steps should I follow when the Mac entry shows Offline / Allow? Is the task-format error a separate compatibility issue, and what sanitized diagnostic information would help investigate it?
