I really like using ChatGPT’s voice chat feature and think it’s head & shoulders above the voice functionality of any other LLM like Anthropic or Grok.
That said, it’s frustratingly unreliable. For instance, I had a long 45 min brainstorming session using ChatGPT Voice (web UI) however the transcript of that chat simply vanished after I exited the voice mode. Also, the Voice Chat mode UI keeps on unchanging. Losing the entire conversation after investing a lot of time in working through framing a strategy doc is incredibly frustrating.
On web, earlier both the text and speech bubble would show when talking to ChatGPT - but now it’s just the speech bubble that shows. Also, when using just my mobile data - the voice mode seems inaccessible via the mobile app (iOS) but when I am on my home wifi it seems to work fine. I was wondering if someone else too has experienced this.
