Why do long conversations progressively slow down, with all messages loading at once for visibility? This makes it cumbersome to navigate. Why isn’t there an option to collapse older messages or search through the conversation more efficiently?
Even more frustrating is the repeated freezing while typing in long threads. This happens so frequently—sometimes for 5–10 seconds—that it disrupts the flow of the conversation entirely. As someone with experience in web development, I know this behavior isn’t normal. It feels like the page is performing unnecessary background operations, possibly related to tracking or recording input, which would explain the lag. If that’s the case, why is this happening? Text should only be processed after clicking “send.”
Additionally, the Mac ChatGPT app’s requirement for a Silicon processor feels unnecessary for a platform that simply exchanges text, audio, and images. If all heavy processing occurs server-side, why the hardware restriction? It makes people wonder about whether local data is being processed in ways users aren’t fully aware of.
These issues—conversation freezing, long load times, and hardware restrictions—interrupt usability. They make it impractical to engage in lengthy discussions without constant frustration or resorting to splitting conversations unnecessarily. I hope these concerns can be addressed with urgency, as they deeply affect the user experience.
I pay the same price as people who are able to use the app, and cannot access it for unknown reasons. A Silicon processor for simply sending images, audio, and text data and receiving images, audio, and text data? The data is processed on your server, not in the app. Why? Why do I need a Silicon processor?
