Hey
I really like the recent update that takes a lot of the messages out of the main app area, it really clears up crashes and errors
Just a couple points of remaining issues and ideas which would massively improve user experience:
If there’s a really long thinking process, praying the stop button does NOT work. It only works sometimes, not if it’s in the middle of a very large process
I have a custom GPT app (Awtsmoos Shliach) that has lots of massive commands that can run for many minutes, and whenever I try to stop it by clicking the stop button, nothing happens at all, it just crashes
Also, when a single chat gets too long, then it prompts me to create a new chat… But then I would need to explain all of the stuff from the other chat to a new session
Often times I need to revert several messages back to be able to ask the chat to write a summary for a new chat
This idea of having one session write a prompt for another session is used SO much (I’ve done it probably hundreds of times) it should be a built in feature
One of two options:
Either allow one chat to grow infinitely, similar to codex, where when it gets close to the context like, it “contacts” context, but in this case it would be ok a more larger scale
Whenever it reaches cost to the end, there can be an OPTION long a button or something to just automatically have it write a new prompt to itself, then it resets the context from that point on and keeps going
OR at least there should be some kind of feature in the settings to make "macros, like shortcut buttons that instantly inject custom prompts into the textarea when you click it, one of then can be by default like “write a new prompt for another ai”…
Meaning in the are where you insert files with the + icon you can also open a new custom insert macro or something the it can open a grid view of custom made buttons/macros that you can edit and modify then it just copies that prompt in directly. Would MASSIVELY save time
Also just like in codex or shows you how much context percentage you have, there should be a similar thing in the chat. Even though the chat has a different context system, we should still be able to KNOW how much more messages we have, so we know how to tell it to write a new prompt without getting stuck
So, in summary:
Either make it go infinitely fit each chat by having it internally prompt itself, or AT LEAST make some kind of feature to easily insert user made prompts into the textarea with macros/buttons so we don’t have to keep typing all of the same prompts hides of times
