Dear ChatGPT Support Team,
I am writing to express a concern regarding the recent changes to ChatGPT’s functionality, particularly how iterative modifications are handled during conversations.
Previously, when I requested updates or changes to content, I could easily scroll through and access earlier versions of scripts or text in the conversation history. This feature allowed me to track the progression of changes and compare different iterations seamlessly. However, in the current system, it appears that old content is overwritten when modifications are made, and I am unable to refer back to previous versions of the text.
This change has significantly impacted my workflow, as retaining earlier outputs is crucial for tasks that require detailed comparisons, iterative development, or reference to intermediate steps. The lack of access to prior versions creates challenges in maintaining clarity and consistency in complex tasks.
I kindly request the following improvements:
- Restore the ability to access all iterations: Please ensure that users can scroll back through the conversation to view each step of the iterative process.
- Provide an option to preserve original versions alongside updates: This would allow users to retain and compare all versions of a document or script without losing any information.
I believe these changes would greatly enhance the usability and transparency of the platform. Thank you for considering this feedback. Please let me know if you need any further clarification.
Best regards,
Sandeep
