Hello everyone. I’ve updated the Codex application (it was necessary), and it now works the same way for both ChatGPT and Codex.
However, I’ve noticed that each task takes a long time to complete. Somebody has the same problem?

Having the same problem with the new ChatGPT/Codex app on Windows. My entire app also gets extremely slow and laggy if there is a single thread running. Basically unusable right now.
I’ve had to move most of my real work over to Claude because of how slow GPT is now after the update on the 9th or 10th. It’s completely unusable. If it’s not better by monday I’ll move my pro account over to pay for more tokens with claude.
I’m hitting this issue too where ChatGPT Codex gets extremely slow to display UI events and actions. It takes 5-6 seconds to show hover effects for buttons or to display the model selector pop-up after clicking it. Same thing for typing: you type and then it takes 5-6 seconds for the text to show up in the input field.
Restarting the app fixes it for a few minutes but then it happens again apparently randomly (I haven’t been able to pin-point the cause). It seems to be worst when opening the “Chat” panel, when switching through threads/tasks or when triggering the /side chat.
I’ve used the Codex app for a few months and haven’t had any such slowdowns in it. It worked seamlessly. The recent app merge / update definitely introduced this issue.
I hope it gets fixed soon as it’s borderline unusable as @Scoursey23 said.
Update: I restarted my entire PC (not just the app), and that seems to have solved the problem for me. I haven’t been able to do much testing yet since the restart, so I’m not sure if it’s a permanent fix. But the immediate difference in speed was massive. Give this a try if you haven’t already @emanuelsan
not only slower, it also lost all my threads in all projects. Some threads just don’t load in the app while others open but I get an error when I try anything. Even new threads are giving the same error. In summary, it is broken and useless to me. How do I revert?
