Is ChatGPT Slow for Anyone Else Lately? (Plus User in Europe)

Hey everyone,

In the past week, I’ve noticed that ChatGPT has been significantly slower, taking 30 seconds to a minute to respond. I’ve tried clearing cookies, changing internet connections, switching browsers and devices, but the issue persists across all of them.

I’m located in Europe and have already contacted OpenAI support. I received a response (not sure if it was from a human or AI) saying that my account has been “temporarily downgraded.” As a Plus user, I’m confused about what this actually means. I still have access to all the features, never received any warnings or emails, but my responses are just much slower.

They also suggested that I reset my password and enable multi-factor authentication. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what “temporary downgrade” means in this context?

Thanks!

Same, I am also in Europe. I am beginning to suspect, that it has something to do with current US politics to f*ck over Europe on every level.

I’ve been noticing for the past couple of days and I am working on a project and it’s very slow and lag and times the content isn’t showing up. I don’t know what do? I have deleted all the old projects that I had but still it isn’t working fast and lag

Hi, welcome to the community!

I also notice that it’s very slow for me.
This is likely due to the overwhelming number of users starting to use the new “4o Image Generation” feature.

Sam Altman mentioned on X:

it’s super fun seeing people love images in chatgpt.

but our GPUs are melting.
