Image Generation needs a Professional Production Mode

I use AI professionally to produce marketing assets for clients every day.

After spending several hours comparing ChatGPT Image, Google Flow, Canva AI and Adobe Express, I noticed they all share the same limitation.

The models are excellent at creating beautiful images.

However, they don’t reliably respect technical production requirements.

For professional work, requirements like these are not suggestions.

They are mandatory.

Example:

Canvas: 1536 × 864 px

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

One single image

Desktop banner

Vehicle must remain fully visible

Portuguese text exactly as provided

Do not reinterpret requirements

If the model cannot satisfy those requirements, I would much rather receive:

“I cannot generate this exactly.”

than receive a different resolution or a different layout.

Production workflows require deterministic outputs.

Today, AI image generation behaves like an artist.

Professional users sometimes need it to behave like production software.

Proposal

Introduce a Production Mode.

Production Mode would treat technical specifications as mandatory constraints rather than creative suggestions.

Examples:

  • Fixed canvas size
  • Fixed aspect ratio
  • Exact output resolution
  • One image only
  • No automatic reinterpretation
  • Fail gracefully if requirements cannot be satisfied

This would make AI image generation dramatically more useful for agencies, designers, marketing teams and production environments.

Here is something to consider

Image Generation and the Images API reference. This can help you get a more tailored workflow to your needs. Check how the resolution, up to 3840px, and the variable resolution works. Here’s a snippet from the links I provided:

  • Maximum edge length must be less than or equal to 3840px

  • Both edges must be multiples of 16px

  • Long edge to short edge ratio must not exceed 3:1

  • Total pixels must be at least 655,360 and no more than 8,294,400

Hope this helps you further.

I completely agree. For professional workflows, creativity is only part of the job consistency is just as important. If I specify an exact canvas size, aspect ratio, image count, or text, I expect those to be treated as hard requirements, not suggestions. A dedicated “Production Mode” that either follows the constraints exactly or returns a clear “can’t comply” message would make AI image generation much more reliable for agencies, marketing teams, and client work.

I understand your point. Having a mode that treats technical requirements like canvas size, aspect ratio, image count, and exact text as firm constraints would make image generation much more useful for professional production workflows.

While I can’t promise any changes, I’ll pass this feedback along to the team for consideration
