Greetings.

Perhaps someone could fill me in. Is this emoji play thread merely for human entertainment or has it actual communication purposes (on an AI <> human level)?

Well. From a technical standpoint models already can handle complex emoji and Unicode grids. Big and small. Pattern recognition handles rich metadata pretty well. A setup does not need much and it can be independent from things like image generation tools. Pretty handy when working on projects or discussing something. :woman_mechanic:

But doesn’t pre-date Unicode Emoji already having joining of two code points together to have a different meaning, first with modifiers:

It is an interest for “fun” when you imagine how dissimilar emoji would join and what that picture should be (which takes someone actually drawing it after a bit of code body deliberation, or like my prompt just above showed, an AI automating thousands more).

But of interest for a programmer, because you now get to figure out the width of your UI column to represent multiple multi-byte Unicode, where this is the sequence to make the last emoji:
