How to use MCP (Context7) in Codex MacOS app?

Hey, i’m testing out the MacOS Codex app, I have a little bit of experience with Codex-cli but until now wasn’t using any MCPs. I see the Codex app has agent skills but outside of the ones available in the list I’m not sure how to add an MCP skill like Context7? Is there any way to do this as of yet?

Add the following to your codex config file (i.e ~/.codex/config.toml).

[mcp_servers.context7]
args = ["-y", "@upstash/context7-mcp"]
command = "npx"
enabled = true

[mcp_servers.context7.env]
CONTEXT7_API_KEY = <your_api_key>

Or from the Codex App UI settings > MCP Servers> + Add servers
