True, I need to be careful/think carefully about option 1 but technically, no money would be exchanged at all within the GPT store. Just a function calling an API and the changes will be taking place on an external website, and even that exchange will not include payment of any cash either. The actial payment section takes place separately to anything else and would not be related to any actions in the GPT store.
The thing is, the few people I’ve talked to that make GPTs said they were interested in the GPT pay scheme and but doubt they would ever benefit due to the few but loyal users they have so a pay wall they can access would be real useful.

I closed the name GPT In order to avoid damage to the model used for testing.
The first time, I threw in a single prompt for all of them, and the result was that all of the images had similar properties. It is considered to be lacking in the basics of creating a logo and for creating a tattoo style. I know more about the feeling than I have yet to pass in terms of a tatto.
The prompt created is a background prompt used to send to DaLLE. Even though it’s different in GPT’s settings, the one created is a broad functionality that relates to documents (trand 2024, not related to tattoos or creation methods). specific instead shows images that are more tattoo-like. There is also a role-based test of GPT that concludes from their behavior that if it were me, I wouldn’t think of doing it. Because it is a waste of user messages. Contrast that with me creating a GPT that can generate the first image in 2 messages and using few tokens. Perhaps gaining popularity takes more than just effective work

But notice that not all are used. Some of them have been around since the GPT system was created and have been hacked into prompts since the first days. In addition, the usage has not changed from the original.

Did the same thing, only with Drupal. Using a CMS as your infrastructure really helps with the organization and maintenance of your files – especially if you are dealing with thousands of them.

Isn’t asking for an email the equivalent to asking a user to sign up to a newsletter? I’m struggling to see how this will contravene PII laws especially since ChatGPT shows the data to be sent and a link the privacy policy when the API is called?

Yes, you are right. Definitely less reliable than standard authentication and there are ways around it, but for our users it was enough to start monetizing their gpts.

I would have thought OpenAI would have announced something regarding their monetization policy. That paywall’d apps would be managed similar to other app stores: premium apps.

Hello, as I said in another chat, I am a fire safety engineer and I use Custom GTPs to test smaller batches of information for my domain. The final goal is to have a consultant that can replace me in the future. (Hopefully)
And I sent some of my clients private links with custom GTPs. Instead of paying me 2-300$ for a service they can create the documents themselves for a smaller amount.
I think we can think of many options of monetisation, depending on our industry.
They did mention something, as far as I know it’s going to be similar to the Spotify setup. You get a payout based on your percentage of overall usage. So let’s be honest, the little guys like me won’t see a penny. Which is why some of all have started looking down the paywall route.
In their defence, OpenAI are releasing new features and improvements at breakneck speed, and I think we can safely trust their word they will roll out revenue share. It’s in their interest as much as everyone else’s that people build valuable GPTs to attract new users and drive usage.
In addition to any future rev share offered by OpenAI, you can also set up paywalls and donation links to accept in-chat payments directly from users with a Stripe integration / user authentication combo (which I’m sure many of you here can set up, or happy to share the version I built as a custom action if you DM me)
Why not put a paywall in front of the custom GPT and make the GPT public? Sending out a link to a premium GPT without a paywall could me others are using it and you wouldn’t know.
The GPTs will be used only by people with a link sent by me. Not public GTPs. The probability that one of my clients will give the link to someone else is very small.
