Please add a way to tell how many deep research queries I have left. It’s hard to know how much I can use it without having a count.

Second this request! It may be a non-transparent thing or more likely a problem of dynamics within the quota system (like a server dependency? But this would contradict the permanence of a limit once it’s been triggered). Would be nice to hear from others how many Deep Research requests they’re able to make within one month. Differences would be really interesting, but also a bit confusing if there’s no official guidance.

A clear indicator—whether numerical or percentage-based—could help users plan their usage more intentionally and avoid disruptions. Even a rough range or warning when nearing the limit would already be a big improvement. Transparency here would improve trust and user experience.

This is actually about 100x worse than I thought.

This morning hovered of the deep research button. I told me I have 120 queries. I ran about 20 deep research quries and I won’t le me use it anymore. It tells me that I need to wait 1 day to get more.

I’m a pro subscriber. Open AI said it is giving me 120 queries. Why exactly can’t I use them when I want to? If I’m busy and I wnat to do all my research in one day, why can’t I do that? Are you f****ing kidding me?

Imagine going to a book store and not being allowed to buy more than 1 book per day. No, imagine buying 10 books ahead of time but being told you can only pick up 1 per day?

There’s many problems here:

  1. Open AI is missleading us. They’re telling us we have 120 queries available and we don’t. There was zero transparency about this. I had to discover it the hard way.
  2. They don’t let us do our job. My job is volatile. I sometimes need to do research quickly.
  3. They’re not giving us a product we paid for. If I pay $200 per month for a pro subscription, I’m paying to get access to the product so I can do my job. If they ration it, I can’t use it to do the work I have to do, which is the reason I’m paying for it in the first place.

I get compute resources are limited and you have to prioritize. Prioritize if you have to. Make me wait longer. But don’t just restrict access.

It seems to me that OpenAI is really going out of their way to alienate their supporters and that’s just not a smart thing to do, especially that they don’t have monopoly on these tools anymore.

To say that I’m extremely pissed is a big understatement.
