Gpt-4o vision fine tuning jobs failing

All of our vision fine-tuning jobs for gpt-4o are failing today with this error code:

Error message: The job failed due to an invalid training file. Vision fine-tuning is not compatible with EU Data Residency. Please remove all images from your examples and try again.

We are not based in the EU and EU Data Residency is not enabled for our account. Similar jobs were working yesterday.

Anyone seeing this or have any ideas?

I have the same error, My train and validation data have the same format so I don’t know what to do.
(My model is finally starting to fine tunning, I just created a lot of models until I no longer get the error)

Yeah it does seem to intermittently work if you try it repeatedly, thanks for the tip!

Might have spoken too soon :frowning:

This has been flagged to staff.
In the meantime, are you willing to try if it works with 4o-2024-11-20?

I also encountered this error today. Was able to start fine-tuning runs last Thursday.
I would be willing to try 4o-2024-11-20, but I don’t see that as a choice for fine-tuning.

The team is deploying a fix already.
Looks like the issue will be resolved very soon.

Still not working for me. Does one need to resubmit the data files or would resubmitting the fine-tuning job with existing files suffice?
Is there an issue tracker link to follow progress and comment on the issue?

Hey @fabien.campagne, great questions.

For your first question, you’ll need to resubmit the data files, then the job should go through!
For your second question, this thread is the right place :+1:

I was able to start a fine-tuning job after re-uploading the files. Thanks.
