Besides what @yu.shlegel suggested, a good practice is to give 1 or several examples of the results you expect (search keyword to dig further: few shot prompts).
I think pretty much all has been said. A minor addition: you can add in your prompt whether you want a numbered or unnumbered list.
Sometimes the model choses arbitrarily and hence you can create greater consistency in output by being specific about this.
