I had created multiple folders to organize my chats. The past few days regardless of which device I’m on they are all gone. I’ve turned the extension off and on again. I’ve made sure that Chrome is up to date and have checked for updates of Superpower ChatGPT as well. Is this a know issue?
Just happened to me as well. Not sure what happened. The individual chats still seem to be there.
Happened with me also my folder suddenly disappeared and all chat has been open in sidebar
Did you recently change your subscription status? A ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan is required for “projects” folders.
OpenAI made a change where chats contained within subfolders aren’t completely inaccessible to you when your subscription lapses - they are moved to normal conversation history, as you report.
Also, there are many subdomains that one could consider web-bugs or snooping spyware, where domains to do A/B beta feature testing on you are also required to turn on particular plan features.
Possible solution: Turn off all ad blockers, reduce the privacy settings in the web browser, then refresh the ChatGPT page to reload your enabled features.

I’m having the same issue now in May 2025. Part of why I upgraded to Pro was so I could group conversations in folders as I have several simultaneous open projects. I organized chats into the different folders and the next day, on my desktop Mac OS app, and on my iOS app, all chats that were added to folders are missing (even in search) and the folders are nowhere to be seen. I don’t know why I upgraded to have all of my most relevant/immediately necessary files be disappeared. Luckily on my browser-based (Chrome) view I can still see my folders and projects but now I’m very worried since others seem to be reporting losing chats.
