This has happened several times already. It’s ridiculous how long it takes them to fix it. A company of this size should inspire more confidence. It seems like they are not even aware of the impact this has on so many people’s businesses." @OpenAI_Support
File Search for Assistant is not working for us as well, please help.
This is so unprofessional and i can’t depend in open ai right now. my production system is broken due to this.
I can also confirm that we have been working gon this all day - debugging all day to finally figure out it is OpenAI - confirmed even in the console - vectorstore is not readable. New SDK 5.20, released 8 hours ago - not a fix. Also, 5.19 SDK doesn’t work. Responses API is also NOT working, not just Assistants.
We are experiencing the same issue — both the Assistant API and the agent SDK file search are not functioning, and we haven’t received any related OpenAI incident alerts. Kindly let us know when this will be resolved.

This started happening for us too since yesterday.
By changing the model used by the assistant to gpt-4.1, i managed to get it working again. i hope it helps you since OpenAI doesn’t really care about it.
