Hello OpenAI Community and Team,
I am a regular user of the ChatGPT mobile app, and while I believe the AI is excellent, I would like to share major pain points that significantly hurt the user experience.
1. Overly Strict Content Filter (False Positives): The current safety filter is far too rigid. It constantly triggers and blocks harmless prompts, detecting inappropriate content where there is none. This disrupts normal conversations and feels deeply frustrating. The system needs to be better optimized to understand context instead of flagging safe, everyday words.
2. Feature Paywalls (Attachments and Image Generation): Restricting document/image uploads and limiting image generation behind the paid tier feels unfair. I completely understand paywalling advanced reasoning models or higher usage caps, but basic multi-modal interactions—like uploading a simple file to chat about it—should be part of the core free experience to keep the app truly useful.
3. API Access and Credit System: Regarding the OpenAI API, it would be much better if it didn’t require purchasing credits upfront and offered a free tier. Alternatively, a great solution would be a weekly reward system: giving users a set amount of free credits for 7 days, and on the 7th day, granting a larger amount of credits along with an extra bonus or reward.
I hope the development team considers adjusting these limitations in future updates to make both the app and the developer ecosystem more user-friendly.
Best regards,
S
