Feature Suggestion: In-Response Bookmark / Reading Position Marker

Hi ChatGPT / OpenAI Team,

I’d like to suggest a small but highly useful feature — a Bookmark or Reading Position Marker within long AI responses.

Here’s the problem I face:
When ChatGPT gives a long answer, I start reading it. Midway, a doubt or follow-up question comes to mind. I open a new prompt to ask it — but now I’ve lost my reading position in the original response. I have to scroll back up and find where I left off, which breaks my flow and wastes time.

My Suggestion:
Add a simple “Bookmark” button or marker within responses. The user can click it at any point in the text to mark their reading position. After asking their follow-up question and getting an answer, they can click the bookmark to instantly jump back to where they left off.

This would:
:white_check_mark: Save time spent re-scrolling
:white_check_mark: Keep the user’s reading flow intact
:white_check_mark: Make ChatGPT much more efficient for long-form research and learning

This seems like a lightweight feature with a high impact on user experience. I hope the team considers it!

Hey @santosh735584! This would be handy. Being able to mark where you left off in a long answer and return there after a follow-up would make research and learning flows much smoother.

I can’t share a timeline right now, but I’ll pass this feedback along.
