Feature Request — Starred Messages Management Panel in ChatGPT

Hi OpenAI Team,

I’d love to suggest adding a “Starred Messages” management interface in ChatGPT, similar to what I’ve illustrated in the attached images.

  • Allow users to star important messages during chats.
  • Provide a dedicated panel to view, manage, and organize starred messages for quick reference.
  • Useful for saving key responses, code snippets, or instructions without losing them in long conversations.

I believe this will enhance productivity for developers, students, and professionals who rely on ChatGPT for knowledge retention and recurring references.

I’d like to suggest adding a Starred and Pinned Messages system in ChatGPT, inspired by collaboration tools like Slack and Telegram.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Key Features:

  • Star Messages: Mark important responses for future reference.
  • Pinned Messages Panel: A dedicated UI to view and manage all starred or pinned messages in one place.
  • Quick actions: Ability to pin, unpin, star, or remove with one click.

This will help power users (especially developers, researchers, and students) retain critical responses like code snippets, explanations, and instructions without scrolling through long chats.

I’ve attached mockup images to help visualize how this could fit into ChatGPT’s UI.

I strongly believe this will make ChatGPT more usable as a long-term knowledge workspace.
