Feature Request: Split Conversation to New or Existing Chat — critical for organizing mixed-topic chats

I’d like to request a major improvement to how conversations can be managed in ChatGPT:

Please add a “Split Conversation” feature that allows users to move part of a chat into:
• A new chat (starting from a selected message onward), or
• An existing chat.

Why this matters:
• Many conversations naturally evolve across multiple topics — sometimes I start with one question and then spend an hour on an entirely different subject.
• Today, the entire chat stays locked under the original thread title, and there is no clean way to separate out the valuable part of the conversation.
• This often results in important content being buried in a thread that I later delete or lose because it had an unrelated title.

How it could work:
• A “Split to New Chat” button below each message (or as an additional option below the Copy & Edit options that appear after selecting your previously asked question as you would to edit it).
• A “Move to Existing Chat” option (even more powerful — allows reorganization of knowledge across chats).
• Both conversation text and Memory learning should follow the split appropriately.

Benefits:
• Makes ChatGPT a much more powerful knowledge management tool.
• Allows users to keep valuable content organized and reusable.
• Reduces the risk of accidentally deleting important content because it was mixed in a trivial chat.

This feature would be a game changer for serious users who use ChatGPT as a long-term assistant and knowledge tool, not just for casual Q&A.
