Feature Request: PIN / Face ID Protection for Individual Chats and Projects

I would like to suggest a new privacy feature for ChatGPT: the ability to lock individual chats and projects using a PIN, password, or biometric authentication such as Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello.

Many users access ChatGPT from personal computers, tablets, or phones that may occasionally be used by other family members. While it makes sense to keep the main ChatGPT session signed in, some conversations or projects may contain private or sensitive information that the user does not want anyone else to access.

It would be very useful to have an option such as “Protect this chat” or “Protect this project.”

Ideally, this feature could:

• Require a PIN, password, Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello to open a protected chat or project.

• Hide the title and preview of protected conversations.

• Automatically lock the conversation again after leaving it or after a configurable period of inactivity.

• Allow users to protect an entire Project and all conversations contained within it.

• Optionally prevent protected conversations from appearing in searches, recent chats, or previews until authentication is completed.

This would add an additional layer of privacy without requiring users to sign out of their entire ChatGPT account every time someone else uses their device.

I believe this would be a very useful privacy feature, particularly for people who use ChatGPT for both personal and professional purposes.

Thank you for considering this feature request.
