Feature request: in-chat section tags for long conversations

I use ChatGPT for long working threads, and important sections get buried as a chat grows.

Pin Chat helps across chats, but not inside a single long thread.

I’d like an in-chat tagging system, similar to Thunderbird tags. Users should be able to assign a color and optional label to specific sections of a conversation. Those tagged sections should appear in the right-side outline for quick scanning and navigation.

This would be especially useful for drafts, final versions, action items, follow-ups, and key decisions.

Useful additions:

custom tag names
color-coded markers
filter by tag
jump between tagged sections
multiple tags on one section

This would make long chats much easier to manage for editing, research, planning, and multi-step projects.

Example use case: I often work in very long threads, and I want to mark sections such as “final draft,” “follow-up,” “publish later,” or “key idea” so I can find them quickly in the right-side outline.
